Kovu | The Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride | TAKEN.
Being raised by Zira and Scar, Kovu doesn’t have the most noble parental examples to go off of. He’s been told from birth he’s Scar’s heir and that he’ll be king one day, so he’s been trained as such. All that has given him a slight sense of cockiness. Deep down, however, he’s rather frightened of his parents since they’re not the most loving or sympathetic lions. To make matters worse, he seems to have gotten himself involved with a Pridelander, which is something his parents won’t approve of at all.

Kiara saw Kovu at a stance, as if he was practicing what he was going to teach her. That must be what he was doing! Going along with him, she jumped in front of him. “I’m ready for my first lesson!” She pranced, trying to catch his attention. He was here, in the Pride lands finally. All those old things she had felt, that she had hidden for so long, were coming back. “Surprised ya huh?” She laughed. “Come on, lets go!” She pranced off, waiting for him to follow her. Once they were off a bit, he began to teach her how to pounce. She listened to him, and watched him demonstrate. She was so excited to be learning, and to be taught by him. When it was her turn to try out what he had taught her, she got ready to pounce, and as she did, he ducked. “Oh, you could still hear me.” He chuckled. “Yea… only, a lot. You’re breathing too heavy. Relax, feel the earth under your paws.” She tried doing what he said, but she heard some birds int he distance and looked up at them. She watched him get down and get ready to pounce, and then he leaped. When she caught up to him, he was standing over Timon. Timon. “Relax Princess, we’re not here to watch you for a change. This just so happens to be the best spot around to eat!” She looked at him, curiously. “If you say so, Timon.” She looked around at all of the birds, and Timon asked Kovu to lend a voice. She laughed. “Like this!” And she roared loudly, scaring off the birds.
The sun was high in the sky at this time of their training, and they had gotten nowhere. Hearing Kiara in the grass behind him, Kovu counted down as she got closer, predicting her pounce. Elephants walking on rocks were quieter than this lioness was. As he explained to her what she was doing wrong, they noticed a commotion ahead of them. Kovu confidently crouched down into stalking position, “Shhh…” he whispered. “Watch the master and learn.” He ran over to the flock of birds and pounced on a small, terrified meerkat. The lions watched as the pathetic little animal picked a fight with a bird, and as the warthog attempted to scare them off. When they asked him for help, he didn’t know what to exactly do, but then Kiara demonstrated with a loud, bellowing roar. It would be a lie for Kovu to say that he wasn’t impressed. She had an amazing roar, but she couldn’t hunt to save her life. He smirked at the thought and then showed off his own roar.
Kiara ran off with Kovu following by her side. “Why are we doing this? What’s the point of this training?” She laughed, as if mocking him. “Training? This is just for fun!” Fun? Kovu had never really heard of fun. Everything to him was training, ever since he was a little cub. Scar and Zira always pushed him to his limit, making him stronger and stronger. He never had time for fun, even if they would have let him. As they ran after the birds, Kovu finally let himself let loose. He forgot about being proper and cool. He had fun, for the first time in his life. Or at least, the first time in a long long time. They ran and ran, and suddenly, they were being headded off by a herd of rhinos. Kiara and her two friends had a look of pure terror on their faces as they evaded the stampede, but Kovu was not about to let this damper his day. He ran away laughing and with a smile on his face, having the time of his life. “What a blast!” he exclaimed, as they hid in a small cave. The meerkat jumped on his head, patting it, “You’re okay kid, you’re okay!” Kovu made a face as the four struggled to get out of the tight space, and all of a sudden his lips met with Kiara’s, much like something that happened when they were only cubs. They both laughed nervously, trying to play it off, but they both knew, even if it was deep down, they still loved each other.

“Relax… feel the earth under your paws… so it doesn’t shift and make noise” - Kovu
Hmm, Kovu’s getting a little touchy-feely, ehh? ;D
